Lakeside Scarecrow Festival

The Lakeside Business Association is sponsoring a Scarecrow Festival during the month of October.

Lakeside businesses will be creating themed “scarecrows” that personify their businesses and displaying them on or near their businesses. All scarecrows will be in place by September 30.

Photos of the scarecrows will be shown here on this web site, and the public is invited to vote for their favorite entries. Ballots may also be cast at the Lakeside Farmers’ Market on market days - Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Welcome To Three New

Lakeside Businesses

The L.B.A. Would like to welcome three new businesses to the Avenue!

Kids Grow bills itself as “Mommy’s Special Store” carrying gently loved children’s and maternity fashions, toys, and mommy-made crafts. Their store is at 2101 A Ginter Street (Beside Domino’s Pizza). Phone is 402-1627.

Arneda’s Thrift & Gifts has opened in the shop vacated by Ron’s Florist at 6945 Lakeside Avenue. The shop is full of both new and gently used items with something for everyone! You can reach them at 262-5179.

Save Recess opened in July in the Lakeside Towne Center at 6112 B Lakeside Avenue. The new toy shop carries fun, eco-friendly toys and more that stir the imagination and encourage active play.. Phone: 301-6553

Here’s What People Are Saying...

To everyone involved in this web site, I’d like to send kudos! It’s been a long time coming, but well worth the wait!

We are proud, long term Lakeside residents and we couldn’t be more thrilled about all the little things that are happening in Lakeside. We are well aware that the L.B.A. has been a driving force in the revitalization and we congratulate you on your success and thank you for your efforts.

We loyally shop Lakeside and support all the small businesses located along Lakeside. From Roy’s to Axselle’s to Robin’s Nest and everything in between, you have our support and our dollars! The Farmer’s Market has been a splendid addition as have been the new shops that have opened. We also loved and supported “Ladies Night Out”

and look forward to the next one on July 22nd. Keep them coming! That, the Christmas holiday shopping night and the spring shopping night have all been splendid additions and our non-Lakeside friends are all excited about them as well. We also attend the parade and go to the summer music “Rock the Block” fest down at the Spring Park.

Keep up the creative ideas and keep the momentum going! You are on the right track and if you continue to build it, we will continue to come ... and we’ll bring our friends!

Thanks to all of you!
